EmCon2009: Abstract Submission Guidelines
All abstracts must be submitted as a Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx file) attached to an email to Thomas.Borch@colostate.edu. Please include “EmCon2009 Abstract” in the subject line. Abstracts will not be accepted after February 1, 2009. No faxed or paper abstracts will be accepted. Accepted abstracts will be compiled, as submitted, into the conference proceedings, so authors should ensure the accuracy and correctness of their abstracts by careful editing prior to submission. Authors will be notified about acceptance of their poster or oral presentation by March 23, 2009. There will be no opportunity for revising or updating abstracts prior to publication of the proceedings. EmCon2009 Conference proceedings will be provided to attendees on a memory stick and on the conference website. Please follow the guidelines below to ensure correct representation of your abstract.
FORMAT:
Abstract must be prepared using Microsoft Word and submitted as a .doc or .docx file.
PAPER SIZE:
Formatted for 8.5 x 11 inch paper.
MARGINS:
1 inch all around: top, bottom, right, and left.
ABSTRACT TITLE:
The title should be a maximum of 150 characters and centered. Both upper and lower-case characters should be used. Title text font size must be 14 point. Recommended font is Times or Times New Roman.
ABSTRACT AUTHORS:
Center the names of the authors and their affiliation (no professional titles or addresses) below the title, leaving one empty line between title and authors. The presenter’s name should be in Bold. Text font size must be 12 point. Recommended font is Times or Times New Roman.
ABSTRACT TEXT:
A maximum of 500 words; the abstract body text font size must be 12 point. The recommended font is Times or Times New Roman. Left justify the text. Separate paragraphs by one line, without indentation.

Please indicate in the email to Dr. Borch which of the following topic categories your abstract falls under (select up to 3 topics if the abstract crosses multiple topics):
- Analysis
- Occurrence
- Transport and Fate
- Toxicology and Effects, including Endocrine Disruption
- Modeling
- Treatment (waste water and drinking water) and water reuse issues
- Policy and Prevention

CORRESPONDING AUTHOR:
The corresponding author’s address, phone, and e-mail must be included at the end of the abstract. Please left justify this information and leave two blank lines between the end of the abstract text and the contact information.
