Research Interests
Research areas include crop systems management to maximize water use efficiency, precision agriculture/site specific management, soil fertility management to minimize groundwater pollution, soil fertility management of irrigated and dryland
cropping systems, management of intensive no-till dryland cropping systems, soil environmental quality, soil testing and development of fertilizer recommendations. My research programs are focused towards solving production problems that face Colorado and Western Great Plains Agriculture and development of solutions that are economically feasible and environmentally sound. Research programs are conducted in conjunction with graduate student training.
Extension & Outreach
Outreach activities are focused towards transferring the scientific information generated in my research program to the end user. Main focus is in the area of soil fertility management, no-till dryland cropping systems and irrigated cropping systems water
in an environment of shrinking irrigation water availability.
Courses:
SOCR350 Soil Fertility Management
Teaching responsibilities include junior-senior level “Soil Fertility Management”, “Soil Fertility Management Laboratory”, and a graduate level course entitled “Techniques of Presentation of Scientific Information”.
